The History of the Walk 'n' Roll packer/roller
In 1998 Allan and Jerry Otto of Havre, Montana designed and built a motor grader mounted gravel compactor. Their unique design incorporated a walking beam suspension for attaching the pneumatic compaction tires. They applied for a patent in 1999 and it was granted in 2003. The patent is titled "WALKING BEAM ROLLER APPARATUS"
The Walk 'n' Roll packer/roller is built in Havre, Montana by Al's Metal Work and is distrubited exclusively by LyCox Enterprises, Inc., Billings, MT

Handy Hitch, A Canadian company, has ignored the patent and copied the Walking Beam and they are marketing their product in the United States. They have made changes to circumvent the patent and by doing so they have limited the compaction ability of their unit.
